Oceana Hacks

Formerly Womxn/Hacks

Oceana Hacks is a beginner-friendly hackathon focused on empowering and educating women in the field of computer science. The hackathon has currently rebranded from Womxn/Hacks to Oceana Hacks.

A robot against a background combining mountains, trees, and circuitboards. The text says "Womxn/Hacks UCSB".

As lead graphic designer, I created a new theme for Oceana Hacks based on previous years' themes of space and ocean exploration. Marina the robot explored the land and skies with a combination of natural and digital imagery inspired by the spirit of discovery and ecological conservation. This project required a careful balance of maintaining the established mascot and branding elements while giving everything a fresh new look.
